Samphire is a stylish, beautifully maintained and well designed Canadian style holiday lodge, nestled in the picturesque valley of Little Petherick just two miles from the vibrant harbour town of Padstow. Built of high quality fire treated timber on the largest plot on Rosehill approximately 15 years ago, Samphire has served as a wonderful home from home for the current owners all that time. Beautifully maintained, this much loved lodge offers a spacious open plan design, three double bedrooms with two en-suite shower rooms, high vaulted ceilings, a Cornish stone fireplace, pretty lawned gardens and expansive decking with a pretty stream running through and countryside views beyond.

 

The accommodation is briefly comprised of a spacious entrance hall with cloakroom off and turned staircase rising to the first floor. The hallway continues round to where the third bedroom can be found with en-suite shower room. The hallway then opens up to the open plan living space which provides dedicated kitchen, dining and social areas. The farmhouse style kitchen has an array of wooden white painted floor and wall cabinets and drawers interspersed with a freestanding Rangemaster cooker and stainless steel extractor hood, large American style fridge/freezer and integral dishwasher. An island also sits in the middle of the kitchen and acts as a food preparation surface and breakfast bar. Windows on three sides allow natural light to flood in. There is also a separate utility room with space and plumbing for white goods. Beyond a large dining table, the room opens up to the main living space with sofas and occasional furniture arranged around a floor to ceiling Cornish stone fireplace with natural light in abundance from three Velux windows and French doors leading to the rear garden.

 

Up on the light and spacious first floor landing there is space for a desk to create a study area with an arched window to the front aspect. From here there is a family bathroom and then a double bedroom. Lastly, there is the master bedroom with vaulted ceiling and arched window overlooking the garden and countryside beyond. The master also has an en-suite shower room with shower enclosure.

 

Outside there is a large expanse of decking immediately to the rear of the property, providing the perfect private spot for alfresco dining. The rest of the garden is laid to lawn which wraps around one side. The garden is enclosed by a timber fence with a gate opening to a small gravelled terrace by the stream. This is a wonderful quiet spot to enjoy the tranquillity of the surrounding countryside. To the other side of the property is a long gravelled driveway with ample parking for several vehicles and a garden shed at the end. To the front are some low planted shrubs and a Cornish stone wall with some more lawn and a paved pathway leading to the front door. Services to the property include mains gas, water, electricity and drainage.

 

Little Petherick is a lovely hamlet steeped in history in the wooded valley of Little Petherick Creek, a tidal inlet of the Camel Estuary. The hamlet is situated just two miles from the historic and picturesque fishing town of Padstow, located on the North Coast of Cornwall offering an extensive range of cafes, public houses and restaurants, none more so than Paul Ainsworth’s Michelin starred No.6 and of course Rick Steins esteemed Seafood restaurant. An area of outstanding natural beauty, there are several sandy beaches within 2 to 4 miles as well as the championship golf course at Trevose. The town also has a supermarket and excellent Primary School. For more extensive shopping facilities, the thriving market town of Wadebridge is just 5 miles distant and offers a fine selection of shops and amenities including a sports centre, cinema, a primary and secondary school and a selection of supermarkets. The nearest mainline station is Bodmin Parkway which is approximately 18 miles distant with the nearest airport at Newquay approximately 12 miles away. Nearby Petherick Creek, The Saints Way and the Camel Trail are a dream for walkers and cyclists alike.

 

To find Samphire, leave Padstow and follow the A389 for approximately 1.5 miles passing Trevisker Garden Centre along the way. Turn left at the signpost to Wadebridge, St Issey and little Petherick and follow the A389 down the hill for approximately half a mile. Turn right onto Rosehill and follow the lane down and round to the right. Samphire is the forth property on the left hand side. The postcode for satellite navigation is PL27 7QT.
