Penhellick Cottage has full residential status and can be used as a permanent home as well as a holiday retreat.

The grounds of Penhellick Barn are exquisitely immaculate. Electric double gates open to the graveled driveway with manicured lawns either side. To one side is the stone built garage with electric up and over door with the ruins of the original farmhouse opposite. There is an area of patio immediately outside the properties that is a real suntrap and there is a block paved parking area across the way. To the side of the property is a huge detached pole barn, currently used for storage and stabling. To the rear of the house is a large expanse of lawn bordered by open farmland. A small area of decking is home to a Canadian Cedar hot tub, discreetly located so to enjoy the outstanding surrounding landscape. Beyond the grounds, a five-bar-gate leads to the first of seven paddocks which total approximately fifteen acres of land. Within this, there is a sand school and a fenced fruit and vegetable enclosure with raised beds. All of the paddocks have electric fencing from where working livery is currently conducted. Penhellick Barn is centrally located in the county within easy reach of the towns of Padstow, Wadebridge and St. Austell with local amenities found at nearby St Columb Major and Roche. The popular North and South coast beach resorts are just a 20 minute drive away and a number of local attractions, including the Camel Trail, Eden Project and Goss Moor National Nature Reserve, are also easily accessible. Excellent road links of the A30 and A39 are less than 10 minutes away and Newquay Airport, with international and domestic flights, is just 6 miles distant.

To find Penhellick Barn, leave Padstow and follow the A389 for approximately 6.5 miles passing Trevisker Garden Centre along the way. Continue along the A389 as it becomes the B3274 and follow all the way to Winnards Perch roundabout. At the roundabout, go straight across onto the B3274, signposted St Wenn and St Austell. Follow the road for 2 miles. You will see the entrance for Melyn Gwel on your right, just past this on the left is the drive leading to Penhellick Barn, marked by a large telegraph pole.
