Carloggos Cottage is a quintessential Cornish cottage believed to date back some 250 years, set in an elevated position above the much sought after village of St Mawgan. This double fronted, cosy and characterful cottage has been extended in later years to now offer sympathetically modernised accommodation with an abundance of appealing original features, low maintenance outside space and off road parking.
Noteworthy features include a fine inglenook fireplace complete with cast iron multifuel stove and original oven, slate tiled floors, remote controlled Velux roof windows, UPVC double glazed windows with slate sills, oak latched doors, LED lighting, two double bedrooms both with built in cupboards and a stylish master en-suite shower room. A storm porch opens straight into the main living space which incorporates both living and dining areas and an open tread staircase heading up to the first floor. A small staircase leads up to the kitchen which is modern, sleek and fully integrated with a fridge/freezer, oven, hob, dishwasher, washer/dryer and composite sink. The main bathroom is stylishly finished with contemporary white sanitary ware which includes a thermostatic shower over the jacuzzi spar bath and glass shower screen.
French doors from the kitchen open onto an enclosed area of decking with the path behind the property owned by Carloggas Cottage with a right of way over it by the neighbouring property. This leads to a useful brick built outbuilding. Below the decking is a paved driveway with parking for one vehicle. Services to the property include mains water, electricity and drainage with an oil fired central heating system.
Carloggas Cottage is located on the edge of the sought after village of St Mawgan and just three miles from the sandy beach at Mawgan Porth. St Mawgan, a beautiful picture box perfect village has a post office, stores, village green and a beautiful 13th century church as well as an “outstanding” primary school. Mawgan Porth is a very popular and sought after location in North Cornwall. The magnificent sandy beach is famous for water sports activities for surfers and bathers alike and there are also stunning cliff and coastline walks. Fine dining is available locally at the award-winning Scarlet Hotel and Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen at nearby Watergate Bay.
